Founder, Outfitter, Author

Born in New England, Chris quickly became a passionate fisherman. Becoming a hunter in his later years and struggling to learn on his own led him to start The Idle Sportsman Outfitters as a way to help bridge the gap to new and struggling outdoors enthusiasts. Spending his college years in Missouri while on an athletic scholarship he improved his network of outdoorsman from Duck Hunters in Louisiana all the way to Wildlife Management experts in South Africa. With an expertise in Saltwater Fishing and Hunting the Northeast Chris is excited to help you get ready for your next trip!

Gavin Fitzhugh

Outfitter & Author

Born in the Pacific Northwest, Gavin was born into a hunting culture. His biggest passion being bird hunting. Upland birds, Ducks, and Turkeys, if it looks like a bird and tastes like a bird chances are Gavin is hunting it. He is also more than acquainted with Salmon and Trout fishing. Gavin also attended a school in Missouri while receiving an athletic scholarship. While in Missouri he took full advantage of hunting the Midwest and utilizing the flyway to do as much duck hunting as possible. With his expertise in the North and Midwest Gavin can not wait to get you geared up for your next adventure!
